South Australia Solar Installer

Solar and battery systems for South Australian homes and businesses, designed around how SA's network really works. With exports capped and feed-in rates low, the value is in using your own solar and storing the rest. Energy Systems Australia is an SAA-accredited installer working from Kensington Gardens out to Gawler, the Adelaide Plains and the Barossa.

Why solar works differently here

Solar power built for South Australia

South Australia has more rooftop solar per household than almost anywhere in the world. That is great for the grid, but it changes what a good system looks like. Midday exports earn very little, so a system sized to export as much as possible rarely pays back as fast as one sized to your own usage.

We're not a one-size-fits-all installer. As SAA-accredited designers and installers, we look at your roof, your power bills and your SA Power Networks connection options, then build a system that keeps more of your solar working for you, with or without a battery.

Where we install

Solar installation across South Australia

We service the corridor running north from Adelaide into the Barossa. Choose your area for local details and pricing.

Northern Adelaide

Gawler

One of SA's fastest-growing towns, with new estates in Gawler East and Evanston built for solar from day one. Older homes in town are prime candidates for a battery added to existing panels.

Also covering: Evanston, Hewett, Willaston, Gawler South

Adelaide Plains

Two Wells

Larger rural blocks, sheds and pumps on the Adelaide Plains. Some rural properties here sit on single-wire (SWER) lines, which changes how much you can export.

Also covering: Lewiston, Dublin, Mallala

Northern Adelaide Plains

Virginia

The heart of the Northern Adelaide Plains growing district. Glasshouses, cool rooms and irrigation make daytime solar a natural fit for growers.

Also covering: Angle Vale, Waterloo Corner, Buckland Park

Solar installation in Virginia →
Southern Barossa

Williamstown

A hills town at the southern edge of the Barossa, where a cooler climate means longer winter heating loads for a well-sized system to cover.

Also covering: Lyndoch, Mount Crawford, Kersbrook

Solar installation in Williamstown →
Barossa

Barossa Valley

Wineries, cellar doors and processing sheds with heavy daytime refrigeration. Those daytime loads line up closely with solar output.

Also covering: Tanunda, Nuriootpa, Angaston

What we do

Solar services for South Australian homes and businesses

Every system is designed around your roof, your bills and your network connection.

Residential Solar Panels

Panels and inverters sized to your roof and your actual usage, not the biggest system that fits. With SA's low feed-in rates, a right-sized system pays back faster and keeps more of your solar in your home.

Explore residential solar →

Solar Battery Storage

Store cheap midday solar and use it through the evening peak, when grid power costs the most. We fit flexible-export-ready inverters that meet SA requirements, now or as a future upgrade.

Explore battery storage →

Commercial Solar

Rooftop systems for sheds, warehouses, wineries and growers. Our delivered commercial jobs run from 66 kW to 100 kW, and eligible business systems up to 1 MW can now claim the upfront STC discount.

How SA's network shapes your system

Three things every South Australian solar quote should account for.

Flexible Exports

SA Power Networks offers Flexible Exports to every new or upgrading solar customer. Your export limit moves with network conditions, so your inverter must be compatible and online.

Rural SWER lines

On single-wire earth return lines, common on rural blocks, the lower export limit is 0 kW rather than 1.5 kW. We confirm your site's options before quoting.

Low feed-in rates

Some SA plans pay little or nothing for midday exports. Designing for self-consumption, and adding a battery where it stacks up, is usually the faster payback.

Solar rebates in South Australia

Most of the help in SA comes from federal schemes, applied as an upfront discount on your quote.

Federal solar rebate (STCs)

Small-scale Technology Certificates cut the upfront cost of an eligible system, applied as an instant discount.

Cheaper Home Batteries Program

Around 30% off an eligible battery for homes and small businesses. Support has been tiered by battery size since 1 May 2026, so sizing matters.

Mid-scale business solar

From 1 October 2026, eligible systems above 100 kW and up to 1 MW can claim STCs, with a fixed five-year deeming period.

SA REPS incentives

The SA Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme funds activities including VPP incentives for eligible customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you install solar outside metropolitan Adelaide?
Yes. We install across Gawler, Two Wells, Virginia, Williamstown and the Barossa Valley, plus the surrounding towns, for both homes and businesses.
Can I still export solar in South Australia?
Yes, within the limits SA Power Networks sets for your address. Flexible Exports lets compatible, internet-connected systems export more when the network has capacity. On rural single-wire (SWER) lines the lower limit is 0 kW, so we check your site before quoting.
Is a solar battery worth it in South Australia?
Often, because feed-in rates are low and evening grid power is expensive. A battery stores your midday solar for the evening peak. We model your actual usage before recommending one.
Do you install commercial solar systems over 100 kW?
Yes. From 1 October 2026, eligible business systems above 100 kW and up to 1 MW can claim the upfront STC discount, with a fixed five-year deeming period.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our designers and installers are SAA-accredited, so your system meets the standards required for rebate eligibility and safe operation.
